 “I run therefore I am”

There really are numerous physical benefits when it comes to running. To list a few:

  • Potential weight loss
  • Improved cardiovascular fitness
  • Improved respiratory health
  • Reduced blood cholesterol
  • Strengthening of bones
  • Boosting the immune system
  • Reversing the effects of ageing
  • Improved body composition
  • Increased metabolism

On a psychological level, running has been shown to improve self-esteem and confidence and improve overall well-being. It is frequently being recommended as therapy for people with clinical depression and those coping with addiction. Runners have also reported getting to a euphoric state – often referred to as a ‘runners’ high’. Running has even been described as ‘addictive’.

So why don’t we all just do it? I mean, it is probably the only exercise apart from walking that dates back to the stone-age activity of hunting for our food! We should all be natural runners!

The evolution of our species and the trappings of modern life have got in the way. But so has low self-esteem and low self-confidence.

I believe in running. I believe in the power of running and have experienced myself how it has empowered me to move from being someone who struggled with low self esteem to someone who is able to believe in herself and her abilities. Running makes me who I am. Running makes me feel alive.

IMG_7105My passion is to encourage, inspire and motivate the runner inside you, and hopefully help you discover what it feels like to conquer your first running steps. My aim is to help your confidence grow, and to make you catch a glimpse into the magical world of running and the awesomeness of you.

“One small step in your trainers. One giant leap for your mind”
